The New Pulford Schools - The construction of these schools, on the plot of land adjoining the Recreation Ground was commenced last week, and it is intended that the work shall be completed as speedily as possible.  We regret however to hear, that owing to the building estimates running higher than had been anticipated the trustees have been compelled very reluctantly to abandon some portions of the details. It had originally intended to surmount the buildings with a tower, to line the inside walls with glazed tiles, and in other minor matters to contribute to the appearance as well as to the convenience and health-preserving condition of the schools; but to do this the trustees require an additional sum of £120, or thereabouts. It has been suggested that if the fact were made known, residents in the town who take an interest in the Pulford Schools - former pupils and parents of present scholars - might be disposed by their subscriptions, to assist the trustees to carry out their work in its entirety according to original intention. We trust that the hint given will be sufficient.
